Creative Guidelines
Don Weldon's metaphysical center offered a variety of workshops and classes from the early 80's through the mid 90's. It was during this time that his Wednesday Night Channeling messages were recorded.
What was Creative Guidelines?
Creative Guidelines was small religious organization head quartered in Phoenix, Arizona. The center was run out of Don's house which he had converted into a school. The living room was the bookstore, the bedrooms were turned into classrooms and the garage was finished out and served as a group meeting area.
Don and his guides developed a multidimensional curriculum for awakening and changing one's life, both physically and spiritually.
He believed the fastest way to a deep and lasting change was to teach individuals self-hypnosis in order they may have a faster and longer lasting impact on changing habit patterns. It was an effective way to have a more direct connection between the conscious to subconscious mind.
He said the subconscious held a lot of power but did not have reasoning skills beyond a six-year-old child. His belief was if you could deliver loving, transformative directives to the subconscious, those thoughts would root and become forces of energy that led to new openings and positive change.
His program was multistep. Classes ranged from 4 to 12 weeks and started with foundation three courses (Self Hypnosis, Self Confidence and Self Awareness) to prepare your mind for some remarkable experiences. The evening classes lasted a couple hours, one day per week. The first was self-hypnosis, then self-
awareness (see library for more info) and you could advance over the course of a few years onwards to classes such as ultra-dimensional awareness, connecting with your invisible helpers, past life regression, connecting with your higher self and more.
Usually, workshops lasted for 90 minutes one evening per week. The classes were small, typically 4-8 people. Each class would start with a short meditation after which Don would move into the course material and close with a guided hypnosis session. Each week we were expected to complete certain repetitive
readings and meditations outlined in the printed course material. (He called this our 'grow work' instead of homework.)
What was a Wednesday Night Channeling session like?
The sessions were very casual. A handful of people would show up around 7pm and we would sit in folding chairs in a small circle within his converted garage. There was a basket at the door in case you wanted to donate, but otherwise there was no charge
to attend. Don would sit with an old metal radio microphone in front of him and began the class by reading a short, handwritten message that he 'received' earlier in the day. The written message was always a prelude to the evening's talk. After Don read the short intro, he would relax, take a few deep breaths, say a short prayer, and ask those of us to contribute our vibration to the channel to make it clearer.
Don explained the reason for this. He said that when channeling entities with extremely high vibratory rates, the message could be halted and unsmooth. He said it was like too much electricity going through a small wire. The small wire limited the bandwidth of
which the message could come through. He said that when others in the physical room sent love (see***), it helped to expand the 'wire' to receive messages more clearly. These days we could compare it to a human-like modem that communicates with 'dial up' speed but is trying to download a feature length movie. The messenger and receiver need to be brought into vibratory proximity of each other. In other words, the 'dial up' had to be faster and the entities who were beyond 'fiberoptic' had to reduce their speed. He did his best to explain this, but in the 80's the internet did not exist, so the metaphor was not yet available.
Don explained that without blending vibratory rates, the message would not be as thorough or clear because our physical vibration was so much lower than the vibration of the entity to be channeled. The connection required 'flux' from both sides. (The flux was 'divine
love' which he had taught us how to attract and direct.) Once he synchronized his vibratory rate, Don would start speaking in his own voice and tone. Typically, the first words through Don were from Gaidon, the entity that offered protection over our group. Gaidon would greet us and then remark he was a 'sort of' gatekeeper here to clear the channel and help harmonize the connection. He would often welcome the guest speaker and then release to the evening's speaker.
Typically, the channeled message would go on for about 40 minutes. Most of the time, we had ample opportunity to ask questions during or after the channeling session. But the funny thing is people rarely did. We discussed this many times after class and all had the same
feedback. Surprisingly, any questions that came to mind were quickly followed by an inward private answer received independent of the channel's spoken words. In a sense, each person in the room was establishing their own connection taking advantage of the higher vibration in the room and could receive their own messages via their thoughts.
It got to a point where people in class were not asking questions out loud when the channel offered opportunity to do so. After weeks of this, we all agreed to voice some of our questions on tape just to allow answers to become recorded so they could be shared with others listening later.
Even though there were only a few people in the room, both Don and the channeled entities frequently commented if we could see from their perspective, we would be amazed at how many others were listening in from the other side. They explained the light from our group attracted vast numbers of additional entities who also wanted to hear the messages even though they were no longer in the physical.
Don used to say even though our class was small in the physical, the 'balconies' on the other side were full. Apparently, the messages were valuable to not just us in the physical, but to those on the other planes as well. The channel would often remind us the privilege it was to be a part of such a group while incarnated in the
physical, and that many others did not have such opportunity in their recent incarnations. They also informed us there were other groups like ours around the world.

How did I find my way to Creative Guidelines?
I was taking a co-op class in high school (1985) and the teacher was asking various people what books they were currently reading. As I had recently come across a book about astral projection, I mentioned it briefly in class. Afterwards, another student said if I was really interested in that sort of
thing, he knew about a metaphysical group his mom was a part of. I was not sure if it was a cult or not, but I went to an introductory presentation with my mom and liked what I heard. (My mom was not into it, as it was too different from her traditional Christian training.) Even though I was only 16 and one of the youngest at the center, I did not feel intimidated or uncomfortable. I liked that Don was not portending to be a psychic or holder of secrets. Rather, he presented concrete techniques to impact and change old habits.

The introduction came at the right time as my family had recently split up through a lengthy divorce and I had moved to a new school and had an extremely limited social network. It was a time when I was looking for clues as to how the universe worked.
Through the many courses, he offered a new perspectives and planted (or awoke) beliefs I still hold core to my being. There was nothing stand-out'ish about our interactions and I felt that he treated all the students similarly as he did me. I do remember as a teenager wishing he would spell things out for me more clearly or give direction where I should head in life, but he did not. He explained his reasoning about this again and again...that we all had free will and he did not feel it wise to influence a person by telling them specific things he felt or sensed. Truly, he provided guidelines, not psychic answers. He expected each student to come to their own answer in their own way. Some things he said to me as a teenager, I still wonder what he meant.
Shortly after enrolling in a few of Don's beginning workshops, he started offering an open session on Wednesday nights. The class was open to anyone and during this time, Don would channel many different entities for about an hour. The messages where not spooky or weird,
they tended to always about love and never about influencing a specific outcome with a student. Occasionally, there was some fascinating information about historical events from biblical times, the earth's current evolution into the Golden Age, and some interesting stuff about life on other planets. I will leave it to you do discover those moments for yourself in the recordings.

I am not sure what year Don died, (he called it graduating), but even now in 2020 I still stay lightly tethered to Don through my thoughts and dreams often recalling things learned while at the center. I know he is still in my orbit every day and believe my life today would be radically different had my core values not been reinforced so deeply during my short time at Creative Guidelines.
